Verdical, Trial Director and Sanction
Does Verdical Improve Trial Presentation?, by
Peter Phaneuf.
Verdical is trying to be too many things to too many people. When other companies like Microsoft or Adobe create software suites, they design and develop them with a very high level of integration so all the features and functionality are consistent and work well together. I think to convince people to use Verdical instead of Concordance/iCONECT or CT Summation/iBlaze, Verdict Systems will need to make a better database first, and then I am sure people will be willing to switch since the presentation module is nicely integrated.

Dataflight Software’s, Concordance 8 attempts to wield itself as the answer to this issue. Concordance is very capable of this task, but as with any software program, solid training is the key to unlocking its full potential.

Concordance and Ringtail
Concordance and Ringtail: A Close Look at Tools and Features, by
Timothy Piganelli.
Concordance has improved the searching tool interface for the document database with their Simple Search feature. The most recent enhancement is the transcript manager
and the addition of new features, such as adding notes and running reports from
transcript annotations.
Ringtail has plenty of speed and flexibility to offer. The databases within it
are very stable and reliable. A great deal of training is required to adopt this tool
in-house, but if one’s organization is handling large, document-intensive cases,
this may be a solution worth examining.
